One day old puppies
My puppies go to approved homes
only. This means they do not go to:
- Families where all members work full time and the puppy is left alone all day;
- People who intend to breed from them or people who are "puppy farmers or
back-yard breeders.
- People who work and intend to take their puppy into a workplace
environment;
- People who wish to purchase an 8 week old puppy as a gifts for young
children and/or other family members or friends.
Ideal homes for my puppies are:
- Families where there is one member at home to care for the puppy most of
the time. This includes shift workers.
- Retired couples or singles who wish to purchase a puppy for companionship
to enhance their quality of life.
- People who are may have physical health challenges and are unable to work.
- Couples who have children who are responsible and mature enough to care
for and are committed to the wellbeing of a puppy.
PLEASE NOTE
I do not support "back yard breeding" or "puppy farming" in any shape or form.
Most of my puppies are spoken for before they are born.
If you are interested in purchasing a puppy from Mitzimist Maltese,
please contact us and we will advise when puppies are available.
When the
puppies are 3-4weeks old, I request a $100.00 deposit from prospective owners.
- In turn, I take weekly photos of puppies and forward these on to the new
owners so they have the opportunity to become involved and witness the
development of their puppy. I also welcome visits from new prospective owners
where possible. This gives both the new owner and myself, as the breeder, the
opportunity to meet each.
- Further, new owners have the opportunity to see the
environment in which my puppies are raised and are able to raise any questions
they have regarding the care of their puppy.
- This way I can be satisfied that the puppy will be going to a suitable
home which meets the above criteria and the new owner is satisfied and
committed to taking puppy at 8-10 weeks old as a family member.
- Where it is not physically possible for prospective owners and myself to
meet because of distance, negotiations are carried over the telephone and via
email.
- Weekly contact with prospective new owners by correspondence and weekly
updated photos of puppies give both myself and new puppy buyers a good insight
into the suitability of the puppy's new home and family.
- Once an agreement is reached based on the above criteria, then full
payment is made for the cost of the puppy less the deposit already paid.
N.B. When
prospective new owners do not disclose information which I consider would be
detrimental to the wellbeing and development of the puppy and / or
have deliberately given misleading information regarding their work or
home situation which could also impact on the wellbeing of the puppy, the
contract of sale will be regarded as null and void and the deposit paid is
non-refundable.
